Small business includes farms and all possible ways to connect people with the land around them: Butchers, bakers, candlestick makers, brewers and community kitchens. The more people resist shifting their focus to remote commerce, the more they can connect to their place. We have to stop thinking of the Earth as our unpaid dispensary of life and start thinking of people as caretakers of their children’s future resources.
