Human civilization has built fantastic (re: fantasy-like) edifices of science, wealth, population and power, but we have yet to embody a common sense of valuability and responsibility among individuals within our systems. Everything is still operating on the evil Invisible Hand competition of the empowered vs the unempowered. By deception and moral turpitude, the empowered keep the unempowered from realization of personal value and systems from their responsibility to future people or places. Violence runs downhill and wealth floats up on the bullshit. We shouldn't be draining the life out of everything to pretend it's the best we can do.
