Thanks for the history, Pengie. I suspected a lot of this, but being a casual writer, I didn't really care enough about it. I have been starting drafts and not publishing, favoring the back and forth of comments (why I paid in the first place). I've never dreamed of 'being a writer'. Some shit just needs saying, right? The Credentialism does piss me off, tho. I don't mind the professionals in service providing their credentials, but come on, it's a lefty-bubble environment; nobody who can read wants to see your privileged whitle acronyms that say you can read and white. Nom'sayin? (someone gave me a brutha card when I was in the Navy, but it disintegrated in the move to Iowa).
Your historical account is a decent documentation of the struggle between useful cooperation and competition as meritocracy. I'm curious enough to stick around for the sequels in our collapsing economic delusion.
