Thanks for this article. It's important that people know about the senselessness of mitigation plans that politicians will be proposing.

Florida is a sandbar/sponge. You can't build a wall around it and keep out the ocean. The ocean will come in through the bottom.

At this point in human political inertia, it is obvious to the most casual observer that the only 'mitigation' that will work in Florida is to move to Georgia, and I don't expect that will last long when the temperatures rise beyond our ability to tolerate latitudes below 35° or so.

Our media and scientists are not getting the urgency across, and most of the corrections to enable society as we know it should have been done at least 20 years ago. Competitive fanaticism is no way to go through life, but it's all we have and billions are going to die from it (oops, I'm supposed to say, "be affected by it").
