Paying sales taxes (in cash) is an anonymous act.

Paying the prebate (UBI) levels the fields of classism, racism, misogyny, etc, by paying everyone the same amount with no means testing: it gives everyone something in common to settle their differences, build community infrastructure without outside intervention, etc.

Far too much of the income tax code exacerbates identity politics and community strife.
