The bigger conflict between reality and money comes down to our individual instincts vs our actual existence as tribe/pack animals. The thing that makes us human is our ability to act by combining our tiny Executive Function ability; overcoming those animal instincts/reactions by using knowledge and friendly cooperation.

The jealous hate that is fostered by "It's the Economy, Stupid" and the Invisible Hand Job competitive meritocracy is anchored in individuation of humans that cannot survive as pure individuals.

Liberal emo-think follows a similar view of individuals as self-supporting parts to be ordered, installed or replaced by machinery, but always subservient to the merits of bullies or aggressive competitors. These "winners" write the rules to build a Loser-Production process pyramid, piled on the ever-sinking resources of our planet. Soon enough, the global economic Shining City will be standing on nothing but corpses. Democrats try to claim some moral high ground, but are just one step adjacent to the same process, because civilization(city-based society) itself is based on the production of resource-extracting humans, regardless of future human or environmental needs.

All of Civilization's overhead costs should be visible where decisions are made(sales tax) and everyone should be paid to be useful to a place or each other(UBI).
