The bigger the return, the more time needs to be taken to implement the technology. Too much of our mindset is keyed on quick releases, which lead to failures of technology perception. Anything that can dig us out of the incompetence and bloatware of Microsoft/Intel deserves careful and patient development. Standards take time to change, especially when the old ones are cheap and exploitative of ignorant consumers in reactionary modes. I still have flashbacks of Windows 3.11 and DOS killing the Amiga (like watching maggots consume a tiger), but the tools I need give me no choice except to pay homage to Sith Lord Gates, who developed so much power in the Emperor Lawyers' EULA.
