The task is to create the best world for future living things (including people). The worst thing for future people is to be anthropocentric. Civilization based on human wants rather than humanity’s environment’s needs will simply continue with two paths: spoiling humans with resources to waste (making them ignorant and lazy) and depletion of resources, social structures, and environmental stability.

We are already past the tipping points on each and every one of these.

Humans believe in gods to give us an excuse for our own detachment from reality and uselessness to our place. From there, it’s all about imaginary authoritarian ownership and wasted places until the money doesn’t work: whether through more or less government and more or less compassion.
