There are several companies sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for more states to pass Community Solar -friendly legislation right now.

I'm in the early stage with lease negotiation, and won't say which.

The NIMBYs are really idiotic about this. There's a steel mill in WI that wants to put solar in local fields to cut their electric bills, and the neighbors are all up in arms about it. They live next to a steel rolling plant and are against installing solar panels.

(face palm).

My particular land comes down to a choice to either sell it (probably to a CAFO that will turn it into a septic field), or keep it organic and lease at the going farm rate that is about 1/6th of the lease for a solar installation.

People can buy 100 manhours of work (a gallon of gasoline) for about 4 bucks.

There's really not a direct path to compete with that much convenience; especially when it is ingrained into our social structure (cars as the dominant species and humans as consumer-servants).
