There was a time when Unions were at war with capitalists. Bombings, train wrecks, police brutality, etc. America found ways to get over themselves and make some concessions. This war is both worse and better: the threat of bigotry is worse now because it is more entrenched and systematic, but we may also be clearer about the sense of truth and righteousness: in the end, there is no reasonable compromise that can leave bigotry intact. This is the key to a door through the Wall of aristocratic lies. It is time to learn what the value of a human being is, whether we are intelligent and courageous enough to do it the peaceful way or stupid enough to let it happen the violent way. Many years of selling egoistic idiocracy will be pushing on the scales, I’m afraid.
