Think of it this way: Cheap food makes for cheap people.
Any farm of the future must be caring for the farm itself and future needs of the farm, not the money. Far too many want to make farming “just business”, when they are also providing cheap food to masses of people doing useless things that consume the planet. Getting farmers to compete with each other for yield numbers is the same as competing with each other for the bottom of the price barrel (and the fastest way to deplete resources). Too proud to unionize, though….trust your aristocrats instead.
Meanwhile, corporations pump more money into robots for farming. If cheap food makes people stupid and lazy, how will they ever find out?
