This is where the significance of China's brokering of peace between Iran and Saudi Arabia comes in, as well. When they manage to form a triad (add Iraq to the mix), then it's a done deal. Iraq had a lot of fields that were redlined by the BP agreements when Iran was still the West's puppet. Since Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL), the corporations have been trying to open those fields, but prices and anarchy has interfered. If China actually establishes peace, and then buys up the oil, that will give leverage to Russia against the West that the Empire of High Tech just won't afford unless we shut down cities and highways.

As doomey as that sounds, it's hilarious compared to the atmospheric river telltale and the insurance bankruptcies that are to come.
