This. Thank you. It is exactly what I've meant when I say, "Civilized humans evolved to not know the difference between bullying and leadership." The progression from Competition to Aggression to Hierarchy is exacerbated by monetization, deception and cheap energy.

What started as tribe vs tribe became system vs. system, then system vs humans (economics), then the System of systems vs Reality.

As you point out, it is extremely unlikely that humanity will intentionally de-escalate its war against Nature, but when we look at the quantification of resources spend on actual needs vs non-needs, "The US Advertising Coalition finds that every dollar of ad spend drives about $21 in sales." there is a huge opportunity for changes if we only find the agency/intentionality/executive function to make it happen.

Just one example is the proportionality between 100,000 people driving individual cars to jobs vs. riding 1 train, or the difference between a planned walkable, synergistic local economy vs the exurb lifestyle.

The vast majority of what we call "the economy" is just crap that doesn't need to be done for most people, let alone looking at what humans could be doing for the benefit of their local places as contributors rather than consumerists.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to sell fish, and the oceans boil with propellers.

It's all in the marketing, and it's All marketing.

"It's the stupid Economy of Stupid" where Money makes the choices for us.
