Under it all is this acceptance that bullying is supposed to exist, but we call it “competition” and worship those who use every advantage to 'win' (extract resources) from their surroundings: up to and including the human race itself.

When decent people like yourself reverse the process, it’s a wonderful thing: but someone will turn it into a sales pitch or a profit-based religion because humanity has adapted wholeheartedly to the selfishness of competing with each other, even if it destroys the planet. Nations and religions will compete for credit as to which apocalypse was started where and who gets to chisel the last pictogram on the last tablet.

The aliens that find it in a million years will always only see an unfinished story because the last two artists will kill each other over how they held the hammer.
