I submit, however, that we should be skeptical of "purpose" unless we are careful to separate natural physical purpose from meaning.

Far too many people seem to turn "meaning" into "mean-ing" and use it to 'win' in a worldwide tournament with few winners and mostly losers.

I agree that happiness isn't the point to living. Persistence is the point. Most persistence boils down to a pot of soup (knowing where the next meal is or knowing we are capable of capturing/growing/buying/producing it). We instinctively are drawn to finding this simple satisfaction (hoarding, competing, hunting, gathering).

Anyone who says that food security for everyone shouldn't be in the hands of everyone is trying to make people unsatisfied so they can sell something to them.

A society based on making people compete for food is not a stable society.
