Whether governments decide to invest in the right things, there’s a simple way to not invest in the wrong things: put all overhead into a consumption tax (sales tax). To invest in people: eliminate the income tax code (which is the source of more corruption by lobbyists than any other code) and establish a sales tax prebate that is probably going to need to be $1500 per month per adult (EVERY adult, no ‘needs-based’ bullshit).

We have been investing in ‘The Economy’ rather than our place (Earth) up until now. That investment is based on anthropocentric blind belief in human growth and extraction of resources. All decisions have been made based on the rate of purchases and tax-deductible propaganda to increase those purchases regardless of risks or costs.
