Well said. People I meet and know me think I like to have long conversations with them because I engage with their words. They ignore my monologues and references to things they don't want to hear and just keep talking about whatever they have been practicing in their head. Writing letters (like historical figures did) fascinates me. People like Robert Hooke, Ben Franklin or Ada Lovelace were amazing communicators, but you know they never had to answer phone calls ;)

My BIL is usually on a tractor or driving a truck. His voice mail says, "Don't leave a message. Just call back later if it's important."

When you think about it, you never really have to answer.
