Well said, Ramona. I DO have an issue with most religions, however. It doesn’t have to do with their hate and their exclusions or their willful ignorance of reality.
It’s that they lie to children and ingrain in them the 'normalcy' of imaginary, unquestionable fears and beliefs over and above reality. Most atheists will tell a story of how difficult it was to break free of those fears to have freedom of thought, and how much they now notice how our language and habits are still influenced by systemic use of religious propaganda and manipulation.
What you believe may or may not be helpful or harmful, but what you lie to children about almost always makes their lives more difficult or complicated.
