Who? Human: a primate that builds a model of the universe inside its brain and upon physical maturity, moves a model of itself inside that model, avoiding reality at all costs.

Why? Until humans, evolution and the universe was opportunistic and reactive: things that were useful to their own future persisted, while things that consumed more than their quota of usefulness would fade away (antimatter, extinct species, unstable physics). Our “why" is that our intentionality gives the universe a picture of things that haven’t happened yet. Whether this ability turns out to be persistent in geological time is yet to be seen.

Why does it hurt? Because we allow bullies and Evil.

Evil: an action taken based on an unquestioned belief.

The only thing lacking for good government is good government.

Real courage, real facts, and intelligence are plentiful. Competitive fanaticisms get in the way because we allow too many people to blindly act on beliefs that are profitable to the few (bullies). We either have to stop putting a price on our value, or we have to put the real price at the collective decision point: the purchase. Most of the pain in the world has a price and a profit motive. It’s not mysterious or magical: it’s mostly just lazines, convenience or greed that stops us from solving any real problems. It’s also these things that keep people working to create problems that don’t need to be solved if we just stop profiting from them. Those two words are blasphemy to most human beings now: “stop profiting".
