You covered all the main points. Nice. I would like to point out how the summation is basically a nutshell of how people will choose the fantasy of "ancient wisdom" over actual skeptical thought, yet will balk at new discoveries by science of how old human history is becoming. It's difficult to reconcile modern discoveries of the last 100 years or so with how slow and bland and long human history really is. We like to focus on the highlights and it makes it seem short and exciting, but when the boring or embarrassing bits are studied, we see how slow people really are on the uptake unless it gave them new forms of sugar, entertainment or a knock in the head. ;)
