We aren’t going to reverse generations of consumptionism with one blow to the head, especially if the solutions to the consumptionism problem all involve more consumptionism ($2 trillion bailout based on government debt is a promise that the future will consume $10T worth of resources to pay those government debts with taxes at 20%).
Money doesn’t ‘magic’ into existence with loans: it comes from the future’s resources.
