You mean the PMC? It’s their function to be professionally stupid. They use their “expertise" to harvest time, attention and money from the highly complex System of systems that makes people stupid. They know exactly what they are doing.

Humans have evolved to not know the difference between leaders and bullies. The highest paid public employee in almost every state is a sportsball coach. This point in time isn’t even close to “peak" stupidity, because if you look at the stock market (where people bet on the competitive moral turpitude of companies), it averages the stupidity of humans (extraction economics/civilization(city-based society)) and there’s plenty of room left for Growth.
