You might see a theme running through my responses and posts that has to do with usefulness.
I am pleasantly surprised by browsing through your posts and thoughts. Thank you.
I don’t think there is any measure in living nature except usefulness. Creativity implies so many angles of intent that only exist in human egocentric belief systems (the supposedly ‘conscious’ 10% of us). We are most useful when we don’t think too much about our motions. We are also most destructive when we do think too much. The information age allows far too much thinking and far too little natural use of our animal being.
Everything and everyone is disposable if a spreadsheet shows a profit in that disposal. Art can be useful, as any good form or elegance of motion may be, and as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, usefulness is in the future user’s benefit, regardless of the intention of present creativity.
I feel so much going on in human activity is so extremely useless to future living things that I have to stop and catch my breath. I don’t think Netflix could possibly come up with a dark enough video to express the grief and pain we are ignoring during the death of this planet’s systems.
