You’re Money or you’re Life.
Society (especially the educated sectors) chose to be Money rather than Life. We now elect Money, not Life. Bernie Sanders, for example, is campaigning on (redistributing) Money and its System of systems, not the usefulness of living people caring for themselves and their places.
“A corporation, essentially, is a pile of money to which a number of persons have sold their moral allegiance.”-Wendell Berry
Each of the ills of a society can be solved if enough people choose to stop being money and start being life. If they stop swearing their morality to the money they don’t have, they realize that Life happens first, Money is killing them: with their permission. Blind faith in the Invisible Hand Job will continue to kill us all if we don’t stop believing in the imaginary beings of Aristocracy (God is the top Aristocrat) and start taking response-ability for the living we need to do, and to stop believing there is such a thing as a self-sufficient individual. It took a village to elect the village idiot, and it takes a village to find useful work for him and to keep him from hurting others.
Our system grooms psychopaths because psychopaths are profitable. Corporations are psychopathic, yet they have billions of faithful helpers. This is not a socially healthy behavior for citizens of a living planet, and it shows in the levels of violence and illness in both humans and their systems, as well as the environments they occupy.
It’s not Life: it’s a death cult.
