You're not wrong, but AI was never the problem: diferentiation, competition and aggression were. AI is a data/algorithmic energy source in yet another path to efficient extraction of resources without putting anything back into the source or system. It's not AI we need to worry about, but the people with enough time, minions and money to use it to their very singular advantage. A New Colonialism, as you well described.
