You’ve done well at expressing your thoughts. I see a lot of the paradigms that have led to our circumstance ingrained in your language and thinking. I don’t begrudge you the chance to emigrate because you see the risks of staying for you. I do want to point out, though, that the mentality to leave is a bigger problem than we comprehend as a society. It fits with the colonialism/consumptionism mentality that makes human beings believe they should be competitively extracting usefulness from the world and then moving on to more fertile ground rather than being contributors to their place. This mental picture is ingrained in our civilized structures, beliefs and schools so deeply that it doesn’t occur to us that everything we think we know about economics is backward.

I support Elizabeth Warren because of two things. The first is her ability to think critically and explain what she thinks without tired catch phrases written by someone else. What she says is what she has thought about and understands. In other words, she’s “The smartest person in the room.” Bernie’s not smart enough to not be socialist in an anti-socialist system. It’s a great meme for a radical prophet, but useless as effective bureaucracy.

The second is that Warren has a strong stance against corruption (even though she hasn’t yet been allowed to figure out that the majority of corruption in government is anchored in the very existence of income taxes).

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer because the poor believe they are only worth what the rich tell them by the price on their heads and their houses, and that they can’t be a society to each other without the plutocracy paying for it.

“If you want to make an apple pie from scratch, first you must invent the universe.”

Most of America was not built by rich people. It was built by hand, by destitute laborers, from the things growing or lying in the dirt. We need to support that dirt and its resources as creative, useful beings. We can’t do that if everything we do takes those resources and sends them off to a city or government or corporations to never come back. Poor people shouldn’t be working for managers and aristocrats: it should be the other way around if there’s going to be a planet for our grandchildren.

We don’t need Big Projects, Big Government or Big Rich People to keep taking and not giving back our useful work. They need us. We Don’t Need Them.
